【公式】なら工藝館 | Nara Crafts Museum - 日本の伝統工芸の原点を知る・学ぶ

シルクロードの東の終着駅として古来から東西文化の交流があった国際文化観光都市奈良は、世界に誇れる日本の文化や伝統産業発祥の地として栄えてきました。

そこで、奈良市では古い町並みを今に残す「ならまち」の保存と活性化を図る「ならまち賑わい構想」の実現に向けて、公共施設の整備をはじめ伝統工芸・文化・芸能の保存並びに発掘・発信等の事業を進めています。

なら工藝館は、長い歴史の中で研ぎ澄まされてきた奈良工芸の一層の振興発展を図るために、

一、受け継ぐ
二、創作する
三、開放する

この三つを基本理念とした施設です。

Nara Crafts Museum

As the easternmost destination of the Silk Road, trade routes that connected Europe and Asia for millennia, Nara has flourished as the cradle of traditional Japanese culture and crafts. Today, `Nara-machi` retains much of its old townscape. The city has launched campaigns to preserve its rich heritage, while creating opportunities for visitors to discover the native folk arts, crafts, and historic houses. Nara Crafts Museum is committed to continuing this rich heritage and passing it on to the next generations.
